The Director of Program Management ensures that multiple small or large projects are executed and managed successfully according to the established objectives. The Director supports all Project Managers in the Region, as they guide projects to successful completion while producing satisfied customers, maintaining profit margin and facilitating team growth. Director of is responsible for managing and developing the regional Project Managers, as well as being involved in the strategic planning, organizing and implementing policies and procedures that add value and consistency to the project management process. The Director executes directives and communicates progress to inform senior management as to the status of Regional project goals. The Director of Program Management ensures that all projects within the Region are executed within the prescribed time frame, and budget parameters. The Director serves as the single point of contact for the Regional Vice President for all projects related activities within the region.

Responsibilities:

  Provide direction and address issues for project managers, understanding of their complimentary roles and interdependencies and the responsibility of each within the project framework.

Manage general responsibilities for the Project Management division.

 Develop and monitor timelines, coordinating the broad scope of activities with Directors of RF Engineering, Network Engineering, Site Acquisition, Construction Management and Installation & Maintenance.

 Maintain team flexibility and cohesiveness in response to aggressive time schedules within a fast paced, potentially changing environment.

 Interpret contracts, communicate scope of work and develop schedule forecast, staffing plan, budget and project execution plan.

 Aggressively drive schedules, providing solutions to obstacles, while being accountable for completion of project goals.

 Has direct responsibility for AUI and Client alignment during the course of the project.

 Ensure that the AUI culture is continually reinforced among the Project Managers.

 Provide mentoring and training of the Project Managers.

 Monitor the performance of the Project Managers.

  Develop and implement Project Management standards.

 Oversee new project implementation - schedule, resources, and budget.

 Oversee ongoing projects and evaluate their performance (such as staffing plans, project schedules, and budgets) and facilitate solutions.

Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Office, LAN/Workgroup environment, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet

 Visio preferred

 Ability to travel and maintain confidentiality is essential

 Understanding of several of the following disciplines: RF Engineering, Network Engineering, Site Acquisition, and Construction Management

 Formal training and/or certification in Project Management Methodology and tools preferred

 PMP Certification desired

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Proven negotiation and influencing skills

 Excellent interpersonal skills

 Excellent presentation skills

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, with eight to ten years management experience with a minimum of five years of Site Development management experience, in the wireless or telecommunications industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
